Post Break: Laughing through a timeless holiday theme

“The Santa Clause” is one of my favorite holiday movies. Every year, as we decorate the tree, my family and I watch it when it comes on our directv specials.

Tim Allen as Santa is truly funny. His comedic delivery is always spot on, and the tale that is told in this family frolic is heartwarming as well.

Our family makes a tradition of watch “The Santa Clause” as we all sit by our fireplace after decorating the Christmas tree. We serve up hot chocolate, and munch on popcorn while giggling our way through the movie.

Aside from the laughs, “The Santa Clause” has a wonderful story line. The suffering the lead character, Scott, must endure as he finds out he has become Santa makes for a complex character despite the move being a comedy. The acceptance of becoming Santa strikes a chord with me and my family as we experience that we are all asked to undertake tasks we may not want, but in the end it is best for everyone.

A funny journey featuring Chris Kringle in a whole new treatment, make “The Santa Clause” one of mine and my family's favorite holiday movies

The ultimate Barbie gift

Ever since we had our daughter, I've learned all kinds of things about little girls that I didn't know. Most of them actually have to do with fixing their hair and Barbies. But the one that I'm better at is buying Barbies. I've kind of become a mini Barbie expert because they're our daughter's toy of choice. Fixing her hair is still something that I'm working on. A lot of times in the mornings before we drop her off at school my wife barely has time to fix her own hair, so I'm forced to fix our daughter's hair.

I thought that maybe I would get something that has to do with that and decided that for Christmas I would get one of those Barbie heads where you can style her hair. While I was looking online to find one of those to order I came across some Clear 4G Internet pricing info that I thought looked pretty good. So I think that I'm going to switch over our internet access to it.

That also reminded me that I needed to go ahead and order her a Holiday Barbie. It's become kind of a tradition for us to buy her one each year because that's the ultimate Barbie gift.

Post Break: The Big 12 Championship

You can claim that this was an off year in the BIG 12 conference since they won't put a team in the BCS National Championship game like they usually do. Blah, blah, blah. Still, you can't complain about the fact that you get to watch two top 15 teams like Nebraska and Oklahoma square off on College Football Conference Championships weekend to see who will go to the Fiesta Bowl. Two dynamite teams that were a couple of losses away from a chance at the championship? There is no way I'm not checking this out on my direct.tv.
What is so intriguing about this match up is the fact that there really is no favorite. National sportswriters seem to be giving a slight edge to Nebraska, but it's not like they should be the outright favorite against a team like Oklahoma? Sure, Nebraska has had a "sexier" year with the school coming back to relevance, but Oklahoma is actually ranked ahead of Nebraska! This is going to be one of those run and gun type games where (clique alert!!!) the last team with the ball will probably win the game. Me: I'll be rooting for Nebraska, but only because it's good to see them be back on top. With that said, i would not be surprised to see Oklahoma playing in Glendale.
I appreciate the guest post, Lindsay Valdez

Post Break: My Black Friday GPS Adventure

Though the morning was much colder than we had anticipated, my mother and I still managed to wake up on Black Friday and hit the stores during the wee hours of the morning. The item I was determined to snag was a GPS navigation system, specifically the Garmin Nuvi Portable GPS Navigation System. My husband has been wanting to upgrade his current navigation system to one with a 5-inch touch screen. I found the best deal at Target, where the model I was looking for was advertised for $135.

When we arrived at the store an hour before opening time, a line had already formed in front of the door. I was worried that I would not be close enough to catch this excellent deal. However, most of the people in line headed for the toy aisle when the doors opened. Therefore, I was able to purchase the navigation system that I wanted at an excellent price. The rest of my day was spent shopping for children's clothes while enduring the cold outdoor weather. I was certainly happy to head home with my discounted GPS system. I snuggled with my husband, drinking hot cocoa and watching football on our Cable TV offers, for the rest of the evening.

Thanks for the post, Kathy Shelton

Gift for the girl with too much jewelry

My best friend Traci has the biggest jewelry collection of anyone that I've ever known. I'm also pretty sure that she has as much as someone like Liz Taylor. But she finds a lot of hers at flea markets and can take the weirdest looking costume jewelry and find a way to pull it off. I wish that skill would rub off on me, but it unfortunately hasn't yet.

I thought about trying to find some new jewelry for her to wear, but I don't even think that she knows about all the jewelry that she has so I'm not going to risk buying her something that she already has a similar thing of. I was thinking about what I could get her and went online to try and figure something out. While I was doing that I ran across the website http://www.CLEARWIRELESSINTERNET4G.COM and decided to sign up for one of the internet packages that's available on the sie for my home internet access.

Then I got the idea to find a really cute jewelry holder for her to display some of that jewelry in her room.

Labels Galore

Personalized gifts are always nice to give and receive. It makes the recipient feel more special when something personalized is given to him or her. There's warmth with such gifts, a feeling which makes you treasure more that present.

Personalized gifts are also common giveaways for offices and corporates and even businesses. It serves two purpose, first as a present or souvenir and second as a means of advertising too. This kind of thing doesn't need to be extravagant, expensive or enormous in size it actually comes in all forms and kinds. What makes it personalized is the custom labels used to mark the item. Any custom label can be creatively done to suit any present.

Burberry For You

Is the nearing holidays driving you nuts already? There may be abundance of gift choices out there but finding the right one to give can be a tough job for anyone. There are clothes, shoes, jewelries, toys, gadgets, fragrances, books and a lot more to choose from and sometimes having so much choices can be harder than ever.

Opting for a higher end brand like Burberry might look a tad bit expensive but it can be a good pick for most executives or professionals. Don't think such priced gifts are only good for the bosses, of course people who are close in our hearts deserve this more than anybody else.

Scrubs For Christmas

Clothes can always be a good gift for any age and any occasion. This Christmas why not consider giving medical scrubs and uniform to friends and family members who are in medical field? It's very practical to give something one can use more than being stashed in the closet.

Nursing uniforms are a must to wear most especially in the hospitals, this kind of gift will definitely be very useful. You might say scrubs are just plain scrubs and nothing special, what else can be better than custom made scrubs for a more meaningful and more special gift?

We can make people feel special even in simple ways, no need for luxurious and extravagant gifts. The more practical and useful a gift can be, the better it is appreciated.

Personalizing gifts with something special this year

Every year I'm always looking for and trying to find new ways to personalize all of my Christmas gifts to my friends and family. Even though they end up ripping through them in the end to see what's inside, I love to see them pause and admire whatever special thing that I've done for them.

I was online trying to find that little something special to add to my gifts this year when I came across the website Clearwirelessinternet.com after reading through it, changed over my internet access to one of the packages offered on there.

Last year I went through the trouble of putting together these nice cards that people kind of overlooked in their hurry to unwrap gifts. So this year I think that I'm going to seal the bows for some of the presents with a Christmas wax seal of my own making. I saw it done last year on a professionally wrapped gift and I thought that it was the most precious thing that I had ever seen. We'll see how they go on a few first presents.

Christmas centerpieces as gifts

I really like to make a lot of my DIY Christmas gifts as things that I know that people will use, like Christmas decorations. I always enjoy when I get gifts like that and I'm also really great at putting together decorations like that anyway.

I went online to try and find some ideas for DIY gifts that I could give to people. That's when I saw some Syracuse Clear Wireless Internet offers and after reading a little more about them, chose to order one of them.

This year, I decided that I would put together some Christmas centerpieces for everyone. I mean, everyone can always use a new centerpiece, whether they realize it or not. But I'm taking into account how my friend's homes are decorated year-round, so the centerpieces will also kind of match their regular decorations. Although holiday centerpieces are supposed to stand out and you're supposed to recognize them as holiday pieces, I also think that it's important that they don't completely clash with all of your existing decor.
